Brown Bread with Goat Cheese, Seranno Chilis, and Crispy Trumpet Mushrooms



Ingredients

  • 1 trumpet mushroom, diced

  • Heavy pinch of salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 2 slices of brown bread

  • 2 tablespoon goat cheese

  • 1/2 a seranno pepper, sliced


Preparation

  1. Add your diced trumpet mushroom to a small non-stick pan with a heavy pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Cook until the mushroom pieces release their water. After they do, add 1 tablespoon butter and cook until the mushroom pieces brown.

  2. Meanwhile, toast your 2 slices of brown bread.

  3. After the bread is toasted, add a tablespoon of goat cheese to each slice. Then add the slices of seranno pepper. Finally, divide the mushroom and leftover oil/butter between each slice of bread and enjoy.
